Old Rough-and-Ready ~ Our 12th President....

I was born in Virginia and was in the army for 25 years before become president.

During my time in the army, I was known as the most popular man in America.

The first time I voted, I voted for myself because I had not lived anywhere long enough to vote until my run for office.

I was the second president to die in office, and at my funeral over 100,000 people lined the funeral route to mourn and pay their respects.

I was born in North Carolina and served as a Lawyer, Politician, and Statesman all prior to becoming president.

I am the only president who has also been Speaker of the House of Representatives.  During my presidency, I added Texas and California to the United States.

I put in place the National Election Day, and during my time in office postage stamps were created.

I died from cholera in 1849.

His Accidency ~~ our 10th President.....

I was born on a slave plantation in Virginia and grew up with a wealthy family.

When I was 21, I was elected for the Virginia House of Delegates.

I became president when I was 51 and was the first president to get married while I was in office.

While in office, the Second Seminole War took place, Florida joined the union, and I approved the annexation of Texas.

On the side, I loved to play the violin as a hobby.

I died from a high fever and respiratory failure at the Exchange Hotel in Virginia.
