Connecticut’s State Bird - The America
Robin
The American robin can be heard singing
all across North America.
They are large songbirds with a round
body, an orange chest, and long legs.
You can spot these birds all year round,
but during the winter, they spend the majority of their time in the trees.
They are easy to spot in the mornings
during the spring, when they land on yards in search of earthworms.
During the afternoon, they can be found
eating fruits like hawthorn, dogwood, and juniper berries.
The oldest American robin on record was
13 years and 11 months old!
